Red Gauntlet is a dependable heritage strawberry variety producing heavy crops of large, attractive red fruit during the main strawberry season.

One of the most interesting characteristics of Red Gauntlet is its ability, under suitable conditions, to produce a smaller second flush of fruit later in the year. This can give you an extra picking after the main summer crop has finished.

The fruit has a good traditional flavour and is excellent eaten fresh or used for homemade jam, desserts and preserves.

Red Gauntlet is a real workhorse in the field. It grows strongly for us and produces plenty of fruit. The possibility of getting that extra flush later in the season makes it even more interesting for home growers.
