Victoria is one of the best-known traditional rhubarb varieties and has been grown in British gardens for generations.
It is an easy-to-grow, dependable variety capable of producing generous crops of long stalks year after year once established. The stems have a good balance of sweetness and acidity and are excellent for crumbles, pies, jam, compotes and other desserts.
What Toby thinks:
Victoria is a really sensible rhubarb to choose if you simply want a dependable variety that will establish and produce plenty of stalks for years to come.

Your rhubarb crown will arrive dormant between autumn and spring.
Plant into fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny position with the top buds sitting around soil level. Allow approximately 90cm between plants and water well after planting.
Avoid harvesting heavily during the first year so the crown has time to become properly established.
