Hinnonmaki Yellow is a productive gooseberry variety producing generous crops of attractive greenish-yellow fruit.
The berries are particularly sweet when fully ripe and are known for their distinctive flavour, often described as having a slight apricot character. They are delicious eaten fresh from the bush and are also excellent for desserts, pies, crumbles and preserves.
Our gooseberry bushes are supplied as established two-year-old plants with several branches, giving you a strong bush ready to develop into a productive plant.
What Toby thinks:
If you think gooseberries are only sharp fruit for cooking, Hinnonmaki Yellow is worth trying. Let the berries ripen properly and they become much sweeter and are very good eaten fresh.
