Ben Sarek is the perfect garden Blackcurrant plant. It is a more upright compact bush allowing for slightly closer planting than other varieties, This allows it to be planted as part of an edible hedgerow if wanted.
This Blackcurrant bush produces a very heavey crop of large berries with extreamly good flavour making it a variety every allotment or home fruit garden should have. Crops are large enough that fruiting branches may need to be suported when laiden with fruit.
Bred by the Scottish Crop Research Institute it has superb frost resitance. Our bushes are suplied as 2 year old bare root plants with a minimum or 3 strong shoots meaning you will get a bushe that will establish quickly.
