Honeoye is one of the most well known early season varieties of strawberry plants. For this reason its widely seen planted on pick your own field up and down the country meaning you'll have probably tasted it before. If you are looking for that traditional strawberry taste its one of the varieties for you. It has bright red medium sized attractive looking fruit so if your growing to enter in a competition you'll have very competitive fruit. Introduced in 1988 this variety has stood the test of time and continues to perform well as a heavy cropper with a long cropping season giving you a bit more of a spread of fruit. The fruit is perfect for both jam making or freezing to enjoy in smoothies later when strawberries can no longer be picked fresh. We think every strawberry patch would benefit from some Honeoye strawberry plants.
